The Jinshanling to Simatai hike reamains with Great Wall Adventure Club

The Jinshaling to Simatai hike remains with Great Wall Adventure Club (
despite the recent reconstruction issue with the Simatai section of the Great Wall.

This is the classic one-day Great Wall hiking tour and is our most popular option. The hike between Jinshanling-Simatai takes around 3-4 hours, and we normally depart for the wall between 7-8am. It is a whole day excursion, and the hike allows you to experience the best of both Great Wall worlds. You will get to hike on restored wall and explore beautiful watchtowers, and as you go further on your hike you will run into the unrestored “Wild Wall”, which is much more authentic than the Disney-Land version at Badaling.

Private tour and non-private group tours are available. We are making are hikes more diverse than ever, and we are excited to present 4 more new hikes: Jiankou to features the hauntingly beautiful unrestored Jiankou and the famed restored Mutianyu, Huangyaguan to the East Wing Tombs includes a section designed as a composite of the entire Great Wall along with the culture of the East Qing Tombs, Huanghuacheng to Xishuiyu features both beautiful blooming wild flowers and an underwater Great Wall, andd a trip from a local village to Mutianyu, which features "Wild Wall", the tastefully restored section of Mutianyu, and a thrilling toboggan ride down from the wall!

This is the flagship tour for Great Wall adventurers! Our guides are fully licensed to provide stimulating and thoughtful tours for hikers to the Great Wall, and are with you throughout your trip. This is a full-day tour because we depart at 8:00am and return sometime between 5-8pm. The Route is available all year long except for snowing days.

If you’re looking for breathtaking views, a challenging but fun hike, and being up close and personal to two different kinds of Great Wall, then this is the hike for you. At the beginning of the hike you'll get restored wall and watchtowers, and as the hike progresses the wall will will gradually deteriorate into wild (but stunning) ruins. Our hikes have been recommended everywhere from NBC (which sent a camera crew on one of our hikes) and the Wall Street Journal to

Our price includes admission passes to all sections mentioned. The Great Wall Administration Bureau collects the admission passes. We have pre-purchased those passes for you.
